The rear main seal in my '03 Odyssey is no more. It's leaking oil like a sonofabitch. Anybody know any good transmission shops in Austin? I'm supposed to drive to VA on Friday.

Sorry to hear. Good luck on the fix.

Will a trans shop do a rear main seal? I must admit that never occurred to me.

It's at the dealership right now. I'm waiting to hear just how ridiculously much they want to charge me, though the service guy is going to see what he can do, including giving me his own personal, non-Honda advice. I think his advice is going to be to take it to another shop.

Thanks. This is turning out to be a very expensive month. Oh, and Christmas is 5 weeks away.

RMS on my E46 was $1,300 from the dealer, so hopefully yours is less!

Service writer was hinting that it was going to be extremely expensive. I could live with $1300. Still waiting to hear back. He's going to talk to his boss, whatever that means, and will also give his own personal, non-Honda advice. That's probably going to be, "Take it to a trans shop."
